GEL NAILS & ACRYLIC NAIL EXTENSIONS
Gel Nails or Acrylic Nail Extensions?
Gel nails and acrylic extensions can offer similar final results to your nails, but there are pros and cons to each. Which type of nail extensions are right for you?
Acrylic nails are cheaper and can be finished in about 40 minutes. Acrylics cure (harden) very quickly and last for many weeks.
Gel nails are a bit more expensive and can take over an hour to finish, but the results can look more natural. Gel cures with the help of a UV light so this allows the nail technician to take their time and get the shape just perfect.

Gel nails at Miss Miracle are done in several steps. First a base coat is applied, then the first thin layer of gel, followed by a second thin layer of gel. Once cured, nail colour is applied. We use UV lamps from SUN UV.
The pros of gel extensions are that they are much more flexible to work with. Until put under a UV light, they will not cure (harden). This allows the nail technician plenty of time to mold the shape to fit perfectly to your nail. They are very durable and give a natural freshly manicured look.
The cons of gel are that they are a bit more expensive and take a bit longer to do. They do less damage to your nails than acrylics, but still, frequent application of gel extensions can do some damage.

ACRYLIC NAIL EXTENSIONS: PROS & CONS
Acrylic nails are made by mixing a powder polymer and a liquid monomer. This is applied to the nail bed, and with just air contact, the acrylic immediately starts to cure.
The pros of acrylic nail extensions are they are cheaper and quicker to apply. They are very hard and robust. They can last from 2 weeks up to a month. They make a great base to apply nail colours or nail art.
The cons of acrylic nails are that if applied regularly, the chemicals can do some damage to your nail beds and make your nails thinner. The smell of the fumes can also be off putting for some people. As they cure and harden quickly, they do not always look as natural as gel nails. However, the staff at Miss Miracle salon are professionally trained and very experienced, so the final nail shape can look just as good as gel.
